Projekt UBIEL już 27 kwietnia.
27 kwietnia 2019 r. o 20.00 Fundacja Nobiscum i Płocka Galeria Sztuki zapraszają na premierę projektu Ubiel.
Ubiel to wieś na terenie obecnej Białorusi z długą i niełatwą historią – po II wojnie światowej, wyludniona, przestała de facto istnieć. Wiele lat wcześniej, 5 maja 1819 roku w Ubielu urodził się Stanisław Moniuszko.
Swoistą ścieżką dźwiękową dla tego miejsca jest ambientowo-eksperymentalny projekt muzyczny o takiej samej nazwie. Jako baza do jego stworzenia posłużyło siedem kameralnych kompozycji Moniuszki, ich charakter zmienił się jednak do tego stopnia, że trudno mówić tu o adaptacji, a raczej o pochodnych, autonomicznych bytach. Jednym z podstawowych założeń projektu było całkowite odrzucenie klasycznego instrumentarium. Zastąpił je system modularny, urządzenia elektroakustyczne, uzupełniły harmonicznie struktury dronowe i nagrania terenowe. O wierności kompozycjom Moniuszki nie ma nawet mowy – choć momentami są one słyszalne, to już po chwili ustępują miejsca improwizacji i chaosowi. Maszyna nie da się bowiem łatwo okiełznać i zmusza do prowadzenia z nią dialogu.
Ubiel na żywo to w znacznej mierze improwizowany projekt audiowizualny, a odpowiedzialni za niego są Piotr Dąbrowski (muzyka) i Tom Skof (wizualizacje).
Podczas wydarzenia premierę będzie miało także dostępne nieodpłatnie wydawnictwo CD.
Projekt Ubiel jest realizowany przez Fundację Nobiscum dzięki dofinansowaniu otrzymanemu ze środków Miasta Płocka.
Piotr Dąbrowski – płocki muzyk, producent, realizator dźwięku. W ostatnim czasie skupiony na eksplorowaniu możliwości systemu modularnego, różnorodnego instrumentarium elektronicznego i elektroakustycznego a także eksperymentujący z taśmą i technikami dubowymi. Tworzy głównie w estetyce ambientowej, nie stroniąc również od trudnych do sklasyfikowania poszukiwań dźwiękowych i field recordingu. Jest kuratorem płockiego cyklu koncertowego Sygnał/Szum.
Tom Skof – prezentuje swoją twórczość podczas koncertów audiowizualnych, imprez klubowych oraz jako realizator multimediów. Motywem przewodnim jego pracy jest relacja obrazu i dźwięku, ich interakcja i połączenie. Swoje projekty opiera na eksperymentowaniu z miksowaniem i generowaniem obrazu na żywo. Od 6 lat współtworzy projekt audiowizualny Soundscape Mirror wraz z Krzysztofem Ostrowskim (Freeze). W ramach kolektywu tworzą instalacje audiowizualne, koncerty oraz wydarzenia interdyscyplinarne. Obecnie koncentruje się na eksploracji generatywnych form wizualnych.

On April 27, 2019 at 8 P.M., the Nobiscum Foundation and the Art Gallery of Płock would like to invite you to the premiere of the Ubiel project.
Ubiel is a village on the territory of present Belarus with a long and difficult history – after World War II, depopulated, it basically ceased to exist. Many years earlier, on May 5, 1819, Stanisław Moniuszko was born in Ubiel.
An ambient-experimental musical project of the same name is a specific soundtrack for this place. Seven chamber compositions by Moniuszko served as the basis for its creation, but their original character has changed to such an extent that it is difficult to talk about adaptations, but rather derivatives, autonomous musical entities. One of the basic assumptions of the project was the total rejection of classical instruments. They were replaced by a modular system, electroacoustic devices, additional harmonic drone structures and field recordings. Any fidelity to the compositions of Moniuszko is out of the question – although they are sometimes audible, they are subject to improvisation and chaos. The machine cannot be easily tamed and enforces dialogue with itself.
Ubiel live is largely an improvised audiovisual project of Piotr Dąbrowski (music) and Tom Skof (visuals).
During the event, the release of a CD available free of charge will also take place.
The Ubiel project is implemented by the Nobiscum Foundation thanks to the funding received from the City of Płock.
Piotr Dąbrowski – a musician, producer and sound engineer from Płock. Recently focused on exploring the possibilities offfered by a modular system, a variety of electronic and electroacoustic instruments, as well as experimenting with tapes and dub techniques. He creates mainly in ambient aesthetics, not avoiding experimental, difficult to classify sounds and field recordings. He is also the curator of the Płock concert series Sygnał/Szum (Signal/Noise).
Tom Skof – presents his work during audiovisual concerts, club events and as a multimedia creator. The leitmotiv of his work is the relation of image and sound, their interaction and connection. His projects are based on experimenting with mixing and live image generation. For 6 years he has been co-creating the audiovisual project Soundscape Mirror together with Krzysztof Ostrowski (Freeze). As part of the collective, they create audiovisual installations, concerts and interdisciplinary events. Currently, he focuses on the exploration of generative visual forms.
